SAN JOSE, Calif. - Chevan Cordeiro threw for 230 yards, rushed for a season-high 109 yards, scored two rushing touchdowns, and two passing touchdowns to lead San José State (4-1, 2-0 Mountain West) in a 40-7 win over UNLV (4-2, 2-1 Mountain West) on Friday night at CEFCU Stadium.
- The Spartans rushed for a season high 203 yards.
- SJSU has yet to turn the ball over offensively this season and has just one turnover overall.
- The Spartans are now +7 in turnover margin which is top 10 in the nation after Noah Lavulo had his first career fumble recovery.
- On the other side of the ball, SJSU surrendered only 31 rushing yards to UNLV, the fewest the Spartans have given up in a game this season.
- Dominick Mazotti amassed career highs with seven catches and 100 yards receiving and also caught the first touchdown of his career.
- On defense, Jordan Pollard led the Spartans with seven total tackles and three solo tackles.
- The Spartans scored first off a nine-yard touchdown run by Kairee Robinson with 7:27 left in the first quarter.
- Robinson has a career-high five touchdowns this season
- Chase Williams had a pass breakup on a UNLV 3rd and 13 which forced the Rebels to punt.

- Cordeiro rushed for a 10-yard touchdown to give the Spartans a 14-0 lead just two minutes into the second quarter.
- Lovulo recovered a Rebels botched snap to set the Spartans up inside UNLV's 20-yard line.
- Cordeiro took advantage of the turnover by recording his second rushing touchdown of the game and sixth rushing touchdown of the season on a 15-yard scramble to extend the Spartans lead to 20-0.
- The Spartans defense made a fourth-down stop inside their own 10-yard line to keep the Rebels off the board midway through the second quarter.
- Taren Schive added to the Spartans lead with a career-long 43-yard field goal in the final two minutes of the opening half.
- The Spartans took a 23-0 lead into the halftime break.
- SJSU marched down the field then Schive kicked a 25-yard chip shot field goal to open the second half.
- Mazotti scored with 8:09 left in the third quarter to extend the lead to 33-0.
- UNLV scored a touchdown before the end of the third to make the score 33-7.
- Elijah Cooks recorded his second touchdown of the season with 9:28 remaining in the fourth quarter to make it 40-7.
- By winning the turnover margin 1-0 with the fumble recovery, the Spartans improved their totals to eight takeaways and only one giveaway this season.
- The Spartans have still not committed an offensive turnover this season.
- Tre Jenkins recorded his first sack of the season.
- Cade Hall and Viliami Fehoko both picked up their respective second sacks of the season.
- With Cordeiro recording 109 rushing yards and Robinson registering 102 rushing yards last week, the Spartans have had back-to-back 100-yard rushers for the first time since Nick Nash ran for 121 yards against UNLV and 111 yards against Wyoming last season.
