ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Cynthia Flores scored the game-tying goal to lead San Josè State (3-5-5, 2-2-2 Mountain West) to a 1-1 draw against New Mexico (4-3-6, 2-1-3 Mountain West) on Sunday afternoon at the UNM Soccer Complex.
- Flores scored her second goal of the season.
- Taylor Phillips earned the assist by taking the corner kick that was headed in by Flores.
- Flores and Phillips both have five points this season and are tied for second on the team in points, behind only Bella Flocchini who has six.
- Bente Pernot made six saves, including a sensational stop when she tipped the ball off the crossbar in the final minute of the game.
- With the draw, the Spartans remain in the top half of the Mountain West standings as they are tied for sixth place.
UP NEXT: The Spartans head back home for a Thursday night showdown versus Utah State (6-4-5, 3-2-1 Mountain West). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
