The San José State volleyball team travels to the Mountain time zone this week for the final Mountain West road matches of the 2022 season. The Spartans play at Utah State Thursday night and at Boise State Saturday afternoon.
San José State brings an 18-6 overall record and 12-2 MW mark into the week and is in second place in the MW standings with a two-match lead over Colorado State. The Spartans bring a three-match winning streak into the week and look to solidify their seeding for the MW Tournament, November 23-25. The top-two seeds receive a bye to the semifinals on Thursday the 24th.
BUMP, SET, SPIKE
- Four is the popular number for the Spartans this season. Of the 24 matches played this season, San José State has played 14 four-set matches. The Spartans have an 11-3 record in those matches. In the current winning streak, all three matches have gone four sets.
- With 18 wins and four matches remaining in the regular season, the Spartans are nearing the 20-win mark for the first time in over 20 years. The last time the program recorded 20+ wins was 2001 when the team made the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round, defeating Santa Clara, 3-2, before falling to eventual national champion Stanford, 3-0.

- With 12 Mountain West wins this season and four conference matches left, San José State has an opportunity to match last year's 13 MW wins, the most for SJSU since joining the conference, and setting a new school record for most conference wins in any conference the Spartans have competed. San José State has won 13 conference matches in three different seasons since the program began conference play in the NorCal in 1977.

- Career Updates – Haylee Nelson is now sixth all-time in career kills at San José State with 1,372. Sarah Smevog is third in career digs at 1,632 and needs just 21 to move into second with Luiza Andrade. Mia Schafer is 12th all-time in assists at 2,139.
- Tickets for the 2022 Mountain West Volleyball Championship in Fort Collins, Colo., are now on sale. The three-day event at Moby Arena will run from Nov. 23-25.
