SAN JOSE, Calif.—After a successful opening-night win, the San José State men's basketball team continues at home on Saturday as the Spartans host Bethesda inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center for a 1 p.m. matinee contest.
- The Spartans won last season's meeting between the two teams, 118-43. Myron (MJ) Amey, Jr. led the team with 32 points, while Tibet Görener added 23 points and nine rebounds.
- The Spartans are 2-0 all-time against Bethesda with last year's win and a 67-44 home win on November 14, 2014.
- Omari Moore and Alvaro Cardenas each scored 14 points in the 63-48 win over Georgia Southern this past Tuesday night.
- Moore was the team's top rebounder on the evening with nine boards and recorded a team-high three blocks.
- Cardenas was 6-for-10 from the field in tying his career high and did not commit a turnover in 36 minutes played.
- Nine Spartans saw action against the Eagles.
UP NEXT – The Spartans continue the four-game homestand with a contest against Alabama State on Tuesday, November 15, beginning at 7 p.m., inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
