The San José State volleyball team returns to Spartan Gym this week for the final two Mountain West matches of the season. The Spartans host Fresno State Thursday night and San Diego State Saturday afternoon. San José State brings an 19-7 overall record and 13-3 MW mark into the week and is in second place in the MW standings with a two-match lead over Colorado State and Utah State. With one win this week, the team would solidify their second-place finish and seed for the MW Tournament, November 23-25. The top-two seeds receive a bye to the semifinals on Thursday the 24th.

- Saturday will mark the final home match for four Spartans - Carly Aigner-Swesey, Haylee Nelson, Sarah Smevog and Alyssa Sugai. The four will be honored after the match.
- Four is the popular number for the Spartans this season. Of the 26 matches played this season, San José State has played 16 four-set matches. The Spartans have a 13-3 record in those matches.
- The Spartans final home match of the season against San Diego State on Saturday, November 19, will be broadcast live in the Bay Area on NBC Sports Bay Area. Those outside of the area will be able to watch on the Mountain West Network. This is the first time in school history that a Spartan volleyball match will be shown on NBC Sports Bay Area. Those with DirecTV can watch on channel 696. Daniele Barrera will be on the call with U.S. Women's National team coach Karch Kiraly as the analyst
- With 19 wins and two matches remaining in the regular season, the Spartans are nearing the 20-win mark for the first time in over 20 years. The last time the program recorded 20+ wins was 2001 when the team made the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round, defeating Santa Clara, 3-2, before falling to eventual national champion Stanford, 3-0.
- With 13 Mountain West wins this season and two conference matches left, San José State matched last year's 13 MW wins, the most for SJSU since joining the conference, and tying the school record for most conference wins in any conference the Spartans have competed. San José State won 13 conference matches in four different seasons since the program began conference play in the NorCal in 1977.
- 1986 13-5 PCAA
- 2000 13-3 WAC
- 2021 13-5 Mountain West
- 2022 13-3 Mountain West
- With one win this week, the Spartans will secure a second-place finish in the Mountain West and will be the second seed at the MW Tournament next week. With the second seed, San José State would receive a bye in the quarterfinals and would play in the first semifinal match on Thursday, November 24, at 1 p.m. MT/12 p.m. PT, against the winner of the 3/6 match from Wednesday.
- San José State enters this week with a perfect 8-0 home record and has a chance to break another school record with two wins. IF the Spartans finish with two home wins, it will be the first time in school history that the program will have a perfect home record for a season. The best record prior to this year was the 1986 season when SJSU finished the home schedule with a 14-1 record and the season with a 28-7 record and went 1-1 in the NCAA Tournament. Last year's team finished with a 10-2 mark at home.
- The Spartans start the week with 234.5 blocks on the season, the eighth-best total in school history. San José State has recorded 10 or more blocks in 12 matches including 18 at Utah State. The team's 66 solo blocks is also the 10th-highest total in school history.
- Sarah Smevog is making her mark on the Mountain West career digs list as she is now 10th all-time in conference history with 1,667 digs. She passed former Spartan Luiza Andrade at 1,653.
- Haylee Nelson will leave her mark on the San José State career records as she will finish in the top-10 in kill attempts and points. She is sixth in kill attempts and seventh in points and has the opportunity to move up in both lists.
- At Boise State on November 12, five of the six Spartans hitters that day recorded 10 or more kills in the 3-1 win over the Broncos. Amethyst Harper led the group with 15, followed by Letizia Cammillucci with 12, Haylee Nelson with 11 and Jiana Lawson and Blaire Fleming with 10 each.
- Eight times this season, the Spartans have hit .300 or better in a match and are 8-0 in those matches. If the season were to end today, this year's team would have the sixth-best hitting percentage for a season at SJSU at .246.
