SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State Spartans have secured a playoff berth but their seeding in the WAC Men's Soccer Tournament is still to be determined. The Spartans could finish anywhere from second place to fifth place depending on their result against Seattle U on Senior Night on Friday.

  • The Spartans have 14 points this season.
  • They are tied in points with California Baptist and Grand Canyon for third place in the WAC and are one point behind Seattle U for second place.
  • Both California Baptist and Grand Canyon hold the tiebreaker over the Spartans because of head-to-head records.
  • With every team having one match remaining, if the Spartans win and California Baptist and Grand Canyon both either tie or lose then the Spartans will get the second seed in the conference and earn a first-round bye in the tournament.
  • The Spartans will honor three seniors on Senior Night including Herminio Padilla, Eduardo Miranda and Finlay Wood.
  • SJSU has a 9-10-4 all-time record against Seattle U.
  • Seattle U won 2-1 when the two sides played each other in the final match of the 2021 regular season.

NEXT MATCH: If the Spartans finish as a top-two seed, their next match will be a semifinal match on Friday, November 11th. If they do not finish in the top two, their next match will be a quarterfinal match on Wednesday, November 9th. The WAC Men's Soccer Tournament will be held at CBU Soccer Stadium in Riverside, California.
