RESULTS
CLOVIS, Calif. - Bryan Quintero threw a career-best 62.06m (203' 7") to win the hammer throw and lead San José State at the 2022 Mountain West Outdoor Championships on Friday.
- Bryson Smith tied a career-best of 57.27m (187' 10") to come in third in the hammer throw
- Jacob Lopez finished fifth in the shot put at 16.40m (53' 9¾")
- Mahkaia Lee finished seventh in the long jump going 5.79m (19' 0")
- Jicel Fernandez ran a personal record of 10:59.82 in the women's 3000m steeplechase
- Naiylah Shepherd threw a career-best 51.80m (169" 11') in the hammer throw
- Emilia Sjostrand jumped a career-best 5.69m (18" 8') in the long jump
- Micah Hairston was the top qualifier in the men's 110m hurdles running a 13.97
- Sydney Bentley (54.55), Kaiya Johnson (55.00) and Daryia Greene (55.59) all advanced to the women's 400m dash final
- Harry Overstreet (48.43) advanced to the men's 400m dash final
- Gabby Spencer (11.65, personal record) and Sophie Liao (11.93) both qualified for the women's 100m dash final
- Spencer (23.43, personal record) had the second-best time in the 200m dash qualifier and will join Kaiya Johnson (24.12, personal record) in the final
- Jalen Adams (10.67) qualified for the men's 100m dash final and the 200m dash final (21.57, personal record)
- Christian Rodriguez (1:51.77) qualified for the men's 800m run final
- Cecil Ebiwok (55.33) qualified for the men's 400m hurdles final
- The SJSU men are fifth overall after seven events
