SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State women's basketball continues Mountain West conference play this week with a home matchup against UNLV on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
THE FAST BREAK
- The Spartans lost their most recent game, a 65-51 defeat against Fresno State.
- Three Spartans tied their career highs in points in the loss including Sabrina Ma (13 points), Amhyia Moreland (11 points) and Nailea Nicholas (nine points).
- The Spartans have excelled with their aggressive defense and ball pressure this season as they rank fourth in the Mountain West in steals.
- Jada Holland ranks first in the conference in steals at 2.5 per game and Jasmine Singleton ranks fourth at 2.4 per game.
- Singleton has registered at least one steal in seven consecutive games.
- The Spartans are fifth in the conference in offensive rebounding, averaging 11.5 offensive boards per game.
- Marisa Davis-Jones leads the Spartans and is 14th in the conference in offensive rebounds, averaging 1.7 per game.
VS. UNLV
- The Lady Rebels enter the contest against the Spartans looking for their sixth straight win.
- UNLV has not lost since December 18th against Oklahoma State.
- Last week, the Lady Rebels defeated Fresno State and San Diego State.
- The Lady Rebels are led by Desi-Rae Young who averages the second most points per game in the Mountain West, 18.1.
- UNLV leads the conference with a rebounding margin of +8.8.
- The Spartans are 8-35 all-time against UNLV.
