SAN JOSE, Calif. -
San José State Athletics was named a finalist for the 2023 PACnet Star of the Year Awards for Innovation of the Year, announced by Paciolan. The Spartans created the nation's first fully-integrated subscription model that includes fundraising, ticket sales, parking, events and exclusive multimedia content. SJSU is generating record revenue through this subscription model, which includes the highest attendance numbers at home football games since 2013 when the stadium held nearly double the capacity.

"Part of our Charge of the Spartans is being innovative in consistently seeking once unimaginable accomplishments by utilizing a forward-thinking mindset and strategically building meaningful relationships," said Director of Athletics Jeff Konya. "Our external relations team did a great job working with Paciolan to create this subscription model for our fan base which allows a one-stop opportunity to build their membership how they see fit. The efforts of our staff and Paciolan have been incredible and we are honored to be a finalist for this prestigious award."

San José State is 1-of-3 finalists selected, joining Memphis and TCU. Voting will be open through Jan. 27 and all three finalists will be recognized at the PACnet Star of the Year Awards on Tuesday, Feb. 28 in Huntington Beach, Calif. A record number of nominations were submitted this year.
