Spartans Sweep MPSF Weekly Honors

SAN JOSE, Calif.—The San José State women's gymnastics team swept the weekly Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors as Lauren Macpherson, Emma Milne and Kyra Cato were honored for their performances at the Stanford meet on Saturday.
 
Lauren Macpherson, Gymnast of the Week
Won the all-around with a 39.325, tying her career-high and ties for the 8th-best all-around score in school history
Top all-around score in the MPSF this season
Scored a 9.800 or better on all four events
Tied for 3rd on vault and bars
2nd highest bars, beam and floors scores in the MPSF at the time
Tied for 4th on beam
 
Emma Milne, Specialist of the Week
Finished tied for second on the beam with a 9.875, the top beam score posted this year in the MPSF
Added a 9.800 on bars, the third-highest score in the MPSF this season
 




Kyra Cato, Freshman of the Week
Made her Spartan debut at Stanford
Best score was a 9.800 on beam
Added a 9.700 on vault and a 9.650 on floor
 




After a short break, the Spartans open the home portion of their schedule on Sunday, January 29, with a tri-meet against Sacramento State and UW-La Crosse. The meet begins at 2 p.m., inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Fans can purchase tickets at the door or by clicking here.
