- The Spartans are coming off a close 74-67 loss to Nevada on Thursday night after earning their first conference win last Saturday against Utah State.
- Jada Holland led the Spartans against Nevada by scoring 15 points, distributing three assists and garnering four steals.
- The reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Week, Sabrina Ma, was second on the team in scoring as she poured in 12 points.
- The Spartans enter Saturday's game as the hottest three-point shooting team in the Mountain West. They have shot over 43 percent from three-point range in three of the last five games and lead the Mountain West in conference play this season with a 39 percent mark from deep.
- On the defensive side of the ball, the Spartans have excelled at getting steals. The Spartans average the second-most steals per game in Mountain West conference play this season at 10.4.
- Holland is first in the conference at 2.6 steals per game and Jasmine Singleton is second at 2.1 per game.
- Holland has recorded at least one steal in 18 straight games and Singleton has recorded at least one steal in 12 straight games.
VS. SAN DIEGO STATE
- The San Diego State Aztecs have won their previous three games with wins over New Mexico, Wyoming and Fresno State.
- The Spartans are 10-24 all-time against the Aztecs.
- San Diego State won the last meeting between the two teams, 77-69, on February 16th, 2022.
- This season, the Aztecs have the best statistical defense in the Mountain West, giving up only 55.9 points per game.
- A big reason for their dominance defensively has been their ability to limit teams from getting quality looks from three-point range. Opponents have shot only 28 percent from beyond the arc against the Aztecs this season.
- One area in which the Aztecs struggle is on the offensive glass. San Diego State averages 9.2 offensive rebounds per game which is the second-worst average in the conference.
UP NEXT: The Spartans have another road trip on deck as they will travel to Laramie, Wyo. for a matchup with the Wyoming Cowgirls. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 MT/5:30 PT on Thursday, February 2nd. Watch the game on the Mountain West Network.
