SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (0-5, 0-0 MW) heads to the Saint Mary's Invitational in Moraga, Calif. on Friday and Sunday against UCSD (3-2, 0-0 Big West) and Saint Mary's (2-3, 0-0 WCC), plus hosts UCSD and Utah State (2-3, 0-0 MW) in a non-conference contest on Saturday at the Spartan Softball Stadium in San Jose, Calif. to open the Spartans home slate. The two Spartans home games can be seen on Mountain West Network on their Sunday game at Saint Mary's will be shown on the WCC Network.

  • This weekend will be the first ever meeting between the Spartans and Tritons. The Spartans are 8-2 in their last 10 against Utah State and own a 51-34 record overall.
  • The Spartans return 18 players from a season ago including 2022 Second Team All-MW players Alyssa Graham and Jenessa Ullegue. Graham led the Spartans with a .337 batting average, 36 runs, 57 hits, 11 doubles and 26 RBIs. Ullegue led the team with 38 appearances and a 2.79 ERA, plus 16 wins and two saves.
  • Lacie Ham was the go to pitcher for the Spartans in the Mark Campbell Invitational going 12.2 innings while striking out 15 (2nd in MW) and only letting in seven runs.
  • Mackenzie Hutchinson started her Spartans career off right behind the plate by throwing out two trying to steal on her and having three assists overall at the Mark Campbell Invitational.
  • The Spartans had a huge transfer this offseason in Adrianna Noriega who left Fresno State. Noriega was First Team All-MW in 2021 and joins her sister Ahmiya in San Jose.
  • Utility player Aubrie Thomas has longstanding ties with SJSU. Her father Shawn played defensive back for the Spartans football team and her mother Sarah was a catcher on the softball team.
