Spartans Finish Tough Doubleheader Against UCSD and Utah State

SAN JOSE, Calif.—
Alyssa Graham hit her second home run of the season and Lacie Ham pitched a combined nine innings to lead San Jose Staté (1-7) in a 5-4 loss against UC San Diego (5-3) and 5-2 loss against Utah State (4-5) on Saturday afternoon at the Spartan Softball Stadium.

UC SAN DIEGO

  • Adrianna Noriega, Ashley Rico and Graham each recorded an RBI against the Tritons
  • SJSU had eight hits against UCSD
  • Ham pitched 4.1 innings, allowing five hits and two runs while grabbing a strikeout
  • Jenessa Ullegue had three strikeouts and no runs in her one inning against the Tritons
  • Graham, Ullegue, Noriega and Taylor Squires each scored runs for the Spartans

UTAH STATE

  • Graham hit her second home run of the season sending a deep shot to left field for an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. She garnered one other hit and an RBI against Utah State
  • Ullegue recorded another three strikeouts in 2.1 innings from the mound while allowing no hits or runs and giving up just one walk
  • Rico drove in the only other run on a throwing error, as Noriega turned Rico's single into a score on a throwing error by the Aggies
  • Ham struck out four batters in her 4.2 innings on the mound
  • Karizma Bergesen notched her fourth hit of the year for the Spartans. She is now sixth on the team in hits behind Reina Zermeno, Rico and Noriega (5), Ahmiya Noriega (7) and Alyssa Graham (8)
