SAN JOSE, Calif. - Lacie Ham threw 10.0 IP of shutout ball while Jenessa Ullegue got her third win of the season to lead San José State (3-7) in a 1-0 win over Saint Mary's (4-7) and a 7-0 win over Northern Colorado (5-7) in the first day of the SVC Classic I at Spartan Softball Stadium on Friday.

With the two shutout wins on Friday, the Spartans have three shutout victories in a row for the first time since 2019.

Saint Mary's

  • SJSU's lone run came off a throwing error by Saint Mary's catcher
  • The Spartans have beat Saint Mary's in two straight games
  • Ullegue went 4.0 IP while giving up five hits and no runs
  • Ullegue has pitched 17.1 IP in a row without giving up a run 
  • Taylor Squires scored the lone SJSU run
  • Ham pitched 3.0 IP of shutout ball while only giving up two hits to earn her first save of the season
  • Ahmiya Noriega and Adrianna Noriega were the only Spartans with hits
  • Makenzie Hutchinson caught another runner trying to steal second for the third time this season

Northern Colorado

  • Ham pitched her first career complete game shutout and her fifth ever complete game
  • Ham only surrendered five hits and struck out six
  • Ham ended the day pitching the final 10.0 IP for the Spartans and not surrendering a run
  • Aubrie Thomas went 2-for-3 including her first career home run 
  • Ahmiya Noriega went 3-for-4 with a single, double, triple and an RBI, plus a run scored to extend her hit streak to six games
  • Alyssa Graham went 2-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and her first triple of the season
  • Hutchinson ended the game going 1-for-3 with an RBI double off the center field wall
  • Reina Zermeno went 2-for-3 with an RBI and her first double of the season
  • Jessica Giacoma went 1-for-3 with a run scored
