SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (6-8, 0-0 MW) heads to the Judi Garman Classic on the campus of Cal State Fullerton starting on Friday and going through Sunday this weekend. The Spartans play Cal State Fullerton (9-6, 0-0 Big West) on Friday, No. 15 LSU (15-1, 0-0 SEC) and No. 20 Oregon (12-3, 0-0 Pac-12) on Saturday and Seattle (12-3, 0-0 WAC) and Cal Poly (6-4, 0-0 Big West) on Sunday. Only the Spartans game against Cal State Fullerton will be streamed and it can be seen on ESPN+.

  • The Spartans come in winners of five of their last six overall.
  • Last weekend, Ahmiya Noriega hit .474 with nine hits, two doubles, two triples, an inside the park grand slam home run and seven RBIs. She also ended both of last Saturday's games with run rules thanks to her first career home run (the grand slam) and a two RBI triple.
  • Alyssa Graham also had a great weekend hitting .500 in the five games of the tournament with two doubles, one triple, one home run, three RBIs, eight hits, seven runs scored and a slugging percentage of .938.
  • Jenessa Ullegue on 2/19 against Saint Mary's threw a 7.0 IP one-hitter with nine strikeouts and no runs scored in a 5-0 win. It was Ullegue's second career 7.0 IP one-hitter and she only walked one on the night. It was also the ninth time in Ullegue's career she's thrown 7.0 IP of shutout ball.
  • The Spartans return 18 players from a season ago including 2022 Second Team All-MW players Graham and Ullegue. Graham led the Spartans with a .337 batting average, 36 runs, 57 hits, 11 doubles and 26 RBIs. Ullegue led the team with 38 appearances and a 2.79 ERA, plus 16 wins and two saves.
  • Lacie Ham has been the go to pitcher for the Spartans. In her last 17.0 IP, Ham has 14 strikeouts while only giving up five runs. She leads the Spartans with 36 strikeouts.
  • Utility player Aubrie Thomas has longstanding ties with SJSU. Her father Shawn played defensive back for the Spartans football team and her mother Sarah was a catcher on the softball team. Thomas hit her first career home run, a solo shot, against Northern Colorado (2/24).
