SAN JOSE, Calif. - Arianna Miranda hit an RBI double and Karizma Bergesen hit her first career triple and had an RBI to lead San José State (8-13) in a 2-1 win over Rhode Island (2-10) and a 3-1 loss to UC Davis (12-6) on Friday afternoon from rainy Spartan Softball Stadium in the first day of the SVC Classic II.
Rhode Island
- Bergesen went 2-for-2 while hitting a sac fly and scoring a run
- Miranda hit her first double of the season and had her first RBI of the season
- Farrah Steffany went 2.0 IP with all zeros on her way to her first win at SJSU
- Lacie Ham pitched 1.0 IP with all zeros earning her second save of the season
- Ashley Goard started on the mound for the Spartans and pitched 2.0 IP of scoreless ball with two strikeouts
- Alyssa Graham scored a run
UC Davis
- Lacie Ham pitched 7.0 IP while striking out seven
- Ashley Rico hit a sac fly for the Spartans lone run
- Graham went 1-for-3 with a run scored
- Ahmiya Noriega, Reina Zermeno and Aubrie Thomas all had hits as well
UP NEXT: Spartans have two more games on Saturday in the SVC Classic II starting at 2:30 p.m. against CSUN and then 5:00 p.m. against Rhode Island from Spartan Softball Stadium and can be seen on the Mountain West Network.
