Bowling, Dorraugh Homer in Spartans' Loss to Saint Mary's

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Dalton Bowling and Hunter Dorraugh each hit their second home runs of the season to lead the San José State baseball team (6-6, 3-0 Mountain West) in an 8-3 loss to Saint Mary's (5-9, 0-0 West Coast Conference) on Wednesday afternoon at Excite Ballpark.

  • Bowling went 2-for-4 while Dorraugh went 1-for-4.
  • In addition to a home run, Bowling hit his sixth double of the season which placed him into a tie with Dorraugh and Charles McAdoo for the most doubles on the team. 
  • McAdoo and Theo Hardy each had two hits. 
  • Right-handed pitcher Aaron Eden started the game and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings without allowing a hit.
  • Right-handed pitchers Darren Jansen and Keaton Chase each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
  • Matt Spear threw out two runners attempting to steal second base. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans will host Air Force on the weekend. The first game of the three-game series is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. on Friday, March 17.
