COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Jenessa Ullegue was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday. Ullegue, a redshirt senior from Ventura, Calif., pitched a complete game one-hitter while only allowing two baserunners and striking out 11 in a 5-0 win over Nevada on Saturday.
- This was the first Mountain West weekly award for Ullegue who was named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Year in 2019
- Ullegue is the first SJSU MW Pitcher of the Week since 2020
- It is the first SJSU softball MW weekly award winner of the season
- This was the second time Ullegue has given up her lone hit in the seventh inning this season and in both games the Spartans won 5-0.
- Ullegue has pitched three 7.0 IP one-hitters in her career
- Ullegue has 24 strikeouts in her past two starts on the mound
- It was the 10th time Ullegue has thrown 7.0 IP of shutout softball and the second time this season she had only one walk while pitching a complete game
