SAN JOSE, Calif.— Emilia Sjostrand and Cameron Tarver lead San José State into this weekend for CSU San Marcos' Mangrum Invitaional on March 24 and the San Diego State's Aztec Invitational on March 25.

  • Sjostrand was named Co-Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday after finishing seventh in the nation in the Women's Triple Jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships and becoming the first woman All-American in school history
  • The sophomore also opened her outdoor season with a first place finish in the Women's Triple Jump at the Cardinal Classic last weekend with a mark of 13.92m (45'8")
  • Tarver is also coming off a weekend at the Cardinal Classic that saw him take first place in the Men's 200m Dash with a mark of 20.77 seconds
  • Freshman Demaris Waters took second place in the Men's 110m Hurdles at the Cardinal Classic with a time of 14.25 seconds
  • Sophomore Lina Schubert is coming off a second place finish in the Women's High Jump at the Cardinal Classic with a top mark of 1.73m (5'8")
  • Sarah Mosteller, Sharli'e McCuller, Alyssa Bean and Sophie Liao took first place in the Women's 400m Relay with a time of 45.53 seconds at the Cardinal Classic

UP NEXT: SJSU will next travel to Fresno State for the West Coast Relays on March 30 and 31.
