SAN JOSE, Calif.—The San José State baseball team returns home this weekend for a three-game series against Saint Louis. Admission will be free for Friday's game while tickets to the games on Saturday and Sunday can be purchased here. Admission will be free for kids 12 and under on Sunday. PREVIOUS GAME
- The Spartans lost a close contest against Sacramento State on Wednesday night, 7-6.
- Matt Spear led the Spartans offensively by going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run.
- Left-handed pitcher Jesse Gutierrez and right-handed pitcher Drew Stapleton had impressive outings out of the bullpen. Gutierrez tossed 3.2 innings, conceding only one run on three hits while striking out three and Stapleton pitched 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and striking out one.
THIS SEASON
- Two Spartan starters rank in the top 10 in the Mountain West Conference in ERA as Micky Thompson is second with an ERA of 2.57 and Jonathan Clark is sixth with an ERA of 3.86.
- Clark is fourth in the conference in opposing batting average. Opponents are hitting only .220 against him.
- LHP Jack White is second in the conference with three wins.
- As a team, the Spartans lead the Mountain West in opposing batting average (.246).

VS. SAINT LOUIS

- This weekend's series will be the first time in history that the Spartans and Billikens baseball programs will face each other.
