EUGENE, Ore. – Carl Corpus led the way for San José State as play was suspended on day one of the Duck Invitational, sitting in a tie for sixth place individually at 1-over-par with three holes to play in his second round. The Spartans currently sit in seventh place after shooting a 297 in their first round and currently sitting at 8-over-par in their second round.
- After shooting a 73 (+2) in his first round, Corpus came out strong in his second round, shooting a 34 (-3) on the back nine
- Kristopher Stiles matched Corpus with a 73 in the first round, including an eagle 2 on the par-4 10th hole
- Stiles and Zubair Firdaus are both tied for 29th at 5-over-par with three holes left in the second round
- The Spartans are currently second in par-5 scoring, shooting 6-under-par as a team and averaging 4.76 strokes per hole
- SJSU is fourth in the field in total birdies with 21
- Corpus is fourth in par-3 scoring after shooting even par on the short holes
UP NEXT: The Spartans will complete their second round on Tuesday morning before finishing the tournament with their final 18 holes.
