SAN JOSE, Calif.—Winners of four straight games, the San José State baseball team heads to Reno, Nev. for a three-game conference series starting Friday at 6:35 p.m. The Spartans will play the Nevada Wolf Pack at Don Weir Field with all three games being streamed on the Mountain West Network

  • The Spartans dominated the Santa Clara Broncos in a battle of the South Bay on Monday afternoon, winning 9-2.
  • Matt Spear went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and four RBIs while Theo Hardy went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
  • Dalton Bowling hit his team-leading fourth home run of the season.
  • Charles McAdoo extended his hit streak to nine games.
  • Five different Spartans' pitchers combined to record 10 strikeouts while limiting Santa Clara to only seven hits.

  • Two Spartan starters rank in the top five in the Mountain West Conference in ERA as Micky Thompson is third with an ERA of 2.60 and Jonathan Clark is fifth with an ERA of 3.44.
  • Clark is fourth in the conference in innings pitched (34.0), opposing batting average (.217) and strikeouts (33).
  • LHP Jack White is tied for first in the conference with four wins.
  • As a team, the Spartans lead the Mountain West in ERA (4.02) and opposing batting average (.239).
  • The Spartans lead the Mountain West in throwing out base runners as Matt Spear and Jake Maroney have combined to throw out 12 attempted base stealers. Spear leads the conference in CSB's with 10.

  • The Nevada Wolf Pack are 11-13 this season and will enter Friday's contest on a three-game losing streak. The Wolf Pack dropped two games to New Mexico on the weekend and suffered a loss to Pacific on Monday.
  • The Spartans are 94-92 all time in series against Nevada.
  • The Spartans went 4-4 against Nevada in 2022, including two wins over the Wolf Pack in the Mountain West Tournament. During the regular season, Nevada earned a sweep over the Spartans when the two sides matched up in Reno in March but the Spartans two out of three in the rematch in San Jose in April.
  • Jack Colette had two home runs and a triple against the Wolf Pack in 2022.
