PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – San José State's Kristopher Stiles tallied a top-10 finish in the APGA Black History Month Classic, a professional golf tournament, on Feb. 27-28 in Palm Springs, Calif. at the Indian Canyon North Golf Club. The junior men's golfer finished in fifth place with an overall score of 7-under 137 and was the only amateur in the field.
- Stiles opened the tournament with a 69 (-3) and carded six birdies
- In the final round on Tuesday, he was able to post a 68 (-4) with five birdies and an eagle on his final home
- Stiles currently holds a scoring average of 73.00 for the Spartans and three rounds in the 60s
- He recorded a pair of top-18 finishes in the fall and is finally healthy for the Spartans
UP NEXT: Stiles and the men's golf team will go to Oregon on March 12-14 to compete in the Bandon Dunes Championship at the Bandon Dunes Resort.
