Spartans Fall in Bottom of Seventh to Cal State Fullerton, 2-1

FULLERTON, Calif. –
Lacie Ham struck out eight and Ashley Rico hit an RBI double to lead San José State (6-9) in a 2-1 walk-off loss to Cal State Fullerton (10-7) in their first game of the Judi Garman Classic Friday night.
 
In the fifth inning, Rico broke the stalemate with an RBI double down the left field line, but the Titans loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning and Alexa Neil hit a two RBI single for the walk-off win.
 
In the third inning, Aubrie Thomas had a highlight catch in left field that prevented at least two runs from scoring.
 

  • Ham threw her second 7.0 IP complete game of the season
  • The eight strikeouts tie her career-high
  • Ham has 16 strikeouts in her last 11.0 IP
  • Rico went 3-for-3 with an RBI and walk
  • Alyssa Graham went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a double
  • Jessica Giacoma ended the night going 2-for-3
