SAN JOSE, Calif.—Left-handed pitcher Micky Thompson threw 6.0 innings and allowed zero earned runs while Charles McAdoo went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the San José State baseball team (4-4, 2-0 Mountain West) in a 6-2 win over Fresno State (5-5, 0-2 Mountain West) on Saturday afternoon at Excite Ballpark. Keaton Chase pitched the final 3.0 innings and earned his first save of the season as the Spartans won for the second straight day over Fresno State.
- Thompson became the third Spartans starter in as many games to toss 6.0 innings. Aaron Eden accomplished the feat in a loss to Washington last Sunday and Jonathan Clark did the same in yesterday's win.
- For Thompson, it was his first time throwing 6.0 innings in his career.
- McAdoo doubled in the first inning and became the Mountain West leader in doubles this season with six.
- McAdoo also provided the Spartans with two RBI singles.
- Hunter Dorraugh went 2-for-4 and registered three RBIs.
- Nathan Cadena and Jack Colette each had two hits.
