LAS VEGAS – The San José State women's basketball team (6-24, 3-15 MW) knocked off No. 7 seed Air Force (13-18, 8-10 MW) 62-51 on Sunday night and advanced to the second round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament behind a career-high 24 points from Jada Holland.

- Holland took over in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 of her 24 points in the final 10 minutes
- This is the third straight win for the Spartans, and they have yet to trail in any of the three games
- Aarion Nichols filled the stat sheet, recording a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and she added four steals
- The Spartan defense held the Falcons to just 14 total points in the first half and 32 percent shooting from the field during the game
- Marisa Davis-Jones and Sabrina Ma both finished with nine points, and Davis-Jones added eight rebounds
- The Spartans out-rebounded the Falcons 45-27 with 19 offensive rebounds
- Holland extended her steal streak to 28 games with two in the contest
UP NEXT: The Spartans will take on No. 2 seed Wyoming in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Tip-off from the Thomas & Mack Center is scheduled for 5 p.m.
