SAN JOSE, Calif.—Following back-to-back wins, San José State baseball continues its homestand this week against Central Michigan on Monday and San Francisco on Tuesday. Tickets are free for both games and Tuesday's game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network

  • The Spartans are coming off two consecutive wins over Fresno State.
  • SJSU won 5-3 on Friday and 6-2 on Saturday while Sunday's game was unfortunately postponed due to rain.
  • In Friday's win, RHP Jonathan Clark tossed 6.0 innings and allowed only three runs before LHP Jack White and RHP Darren Jansen combined to allow zero runs the rest of the game.
  • On Saturday, LHP Micky Thompson completed 6.0 innings without conceding an earned run while Keaton Chase pitched the final three innings to garner his first save of the season.
  • Offensively, Jack Colette led the Spartans over the two games by going 4-for-7 with eight total bases. The Spartans center fielder registered one home run, one double and two singles.
  • Charles McAdoo also had an impressive showing in the series, recording a line of 4-for-8 and a team-high three RBIS. The Spartans second baseman doubled on Saturday and now leads the Mountain West Conference with six doubles this season.
  • White is first in the conference with an ERA of 1.08 this season.
  • Two other Spartans rank in the top 10 in ERA in the Mountain West: Thompson ranks third (2.40) and Clark ranks seventh (2.81).
  • Hunter Dorraugh is ninth in the conference in batting average (.394) and eighth in slugging percentage (.636).

VS. CENTRAL MICHIGAN

  • The Central Michigan Chippewas are 5-5 this season and took one of two games in a doubleheader against Saint Mary's on Sunday.
  • Monday's matchup will be the first time in history that the Spartans and the Chippewas face each other.

VS. SAN FRANCISCO 

  • The San Francisco Dons are 6-2 this season and coming off a sweep of Villanova on the weekend.
  • Prior to the series against Villanova, the Dons lost 7-5 against Fresno State on Wednesday, March 1.
  • All time, the Spartans are 100-73-1 in series against San Francisco.
  • The Spartans won 6-5 in 10 innings when the two sides matched up on March 1, 2022. Aaron Eden pitched 5.0 innings in the win and only allowed one earned run while McAdoo led the Spartans offensively by going 2-for-5.
