WALNUT, Calif.— San José State heads to Southern California for the final two days of the Mt. Sac Relays held on April 14 and 15. This is the Spartans second-to-last meet before the Mountain West Outdoor Championships held May 11-14.

  • With two weeks to go in the outdoor season, Emilia Sjostrand still leads the nation with the best USTFCCCA Women's Triple Jump mark of 13.92m (45'8"), which she recorded at the Cardinal Classic on March 18
  • Demaris Waters was named MW Freshman of the Week for his most recent performance in the Men's 110m Hurdles two weeks ago at the West Coast Relays. He won the event with a time of 13.91 seconds, the seventh-fastest mark in SJSU history
  • Christopher Coats has put together a nice outdoor season, recording a first place and third place finish in the Men's 200m Dash and a second and third place finish in the Men's 400m Dash on the year
  • Cameron Tarver was named MW Freshman of the Week after he took first place in the Men's 200m Dash in 20.77 seconds at the Cardinal Classic on March 18. He's most recently taken third in the Men's 200m Dash in 20.84 seconds and first in the Men's 100m Dash with a time of 10.45 seconds, both at the West Coast Relays
  • Alyssa Bean and Gabby Spencer have anchored the Women's Relay teams to three first place finishes and one third place result throughout the outdoor season
  • Ajamu Reed has put up solid performances in the Men's Triple Jump and Long Jump competitions after earning an All-MW selection in the indoor season for the Men's Long Jump and second place at the MW Indoor Championships
  • Jeremiah Walker has put up some great performances in the outdoor season, winning the Men's 200m Dash in 20.65 seconds and finishing third the Men's 100m Dash in 10.45 seconds, both at the West Coast Relays

UP NEXT: After the Mt. Sac Relays, the Spartans will head to the Fresno State Invitational for their final meet of the outdoor regular season.
