SAN JOSE, Calif.—Following a nine-game road trip, the San José State baseball team returns home this weekend for three games against UNLV. On Friday night, the Spartans will play under the lights at Excite Ballpark for the first time this season before afternoon showdowns on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased here and all three games will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
PREVIOUS SERIES
- The Spartans lost two games at UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
- In game one, Dalton Bowling hit a two-run home run, his team-leading sixth home run of the season.
- The reigning Mountain West Player of the Week, Jack Colette, reached base safely in four of five plate appearances.
- Right-handed pitcher Keaton Chase and left-handed pitcher Jesse Gutierrez combined to allow only two earned runs in 6.0 innings. Gutierrez struck out of four of the six batters he faced.
- In game two, LHP Corey Sanchez tossed 2.2 innings of relief, allowing only one run on five hits while striking out two and LHP Trevor Ernt pitched a scoreless eighth inning.

- The Spartans rank second in the Mountain West Conference in opposing batting average. Opponents are hitting only .267 against the Spartans.
- The Spartans lead the conference in throwing out base runners as Matt Spear and Jake Maroney have combined to throw out 16 attempted base stealers.
- LHP Micky Thompson has the third-best ERA in the conference at 3.32.
- Four Spartans rank inside the top five in doubles. Charles McAdoo is third with 12 while Bowling, Colette and Hunter Dorraugh are all tied for fourth with 11 each.
- Bowling is tied for fourth in home runs with six, tied for fifth in RBIs with 31 and is 10th in slugging percentage (.564).
- Theo Hardy is tied for third in walks with 21.
- Dorraugh has the ninth-best batting average at .339.
- Colette is tied for seventh in stolen bases with seven and Jeriah Lewis is eighth with six.
VS. UNLV
- The UNLV Rebels are 14-17 this year and 7-8 in Mountain-West Conference play.
- The Rebels have won three straight games, taking the series finale against Nevada on Saturday and winning over Loyola Marymount on Monday and Tuesday.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will play Cal Poly on April 18, resuming their game against the Mustangs from February 20. On February 20, the game was postponed after the eighth inning due to darkness with the Spartans trailing, 11-10. Following the completion of the postponed game, the two teams will play a complete game. All of the action starts at 4 p.m. in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
