SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (19-21, 7-7 MW) hosts Mountain West leading Boise State (21-12, 8-2 MW) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 12:00 p.m. from Spartan Softball Stadium with both games being shown on the Mountain West Network.
- The Spartans are 13-7 at home this season.
- The Spartans swept Fresno St. in a doubleheader on 4/12 and it is their first regular season sweep over the Bulldogs since joining the Mountain West Conference.
- Freshman Ahmiya Noriega went 4-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and two runs scored against FS (4/12 in a doubleheader) in her first games back since April 1st. She is third in the conference with three triples this season.
- Alyssa Graham hit two home runs against Colorado State (4/6-8) including a game changing grand slam (has two grand slams this season) and has eight home runs to lead the Spartans. The SJSU record is 13 in a season by Brittany McConnell in 2008. Graham has four home runs in her last eight games overall and is seventh in the MW with eight home runs this season.
- Freshman Reina Zermeno hit .615 with a slugging percentage of 1.077 and had a home run, eight hits, five runs scored, four RBIs, three doubles, plus stole a pair of bases and had 10 putouts at UNM (3/24-26).
- Zermeno has only struck out six times this season (104 at-bats) which is fourth best in the Mountain West.
- Jenessa Ullegue pitched her second 7.0 IP one-hitter of the season vs. Nevada (3/18) while striking out 11 which earned her her first Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors (3/21). Ullegue has twice gone to the seventh inning with a no hitter this season and has 24 strikeouts in her last two starts on the mound.
- It was Ullegue's third career 7.0 IP one-hitter and she only walked one on the night. It was also the 10th time in Ullegue's career she's thrown 7.0 IP of shutout ball.
- Ullegue has 344 career strikeouts and is only the sixth SJSU pitcher to go over 300 strikeouts in her career. Corina Lilly is fifth on the all-time list with 376 career strikeouts.
