SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jenessa Ullegue struck out 12 in nine innings of work while letting up only one run to lead San José State (19-22, 7-8 MW) in a 1-0 nine innings loss to Mountain West leading Boise State (22-12, 9-2 MW) in the first of a two-game series at Spartan Softball Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game's lone run came on a two out RBI double by Boise State's Eliyah Flores in the top of the ninth inning. The Spartans fell to 1-1 in extra innings this season.
- Ullegue tied a career-high with 9.0 IP and the 12 strikeouts are the second most for her this season in a single game.
- Makenzie Hutchinson went 3-for-3 and the three hits are a single game career best.
- Alyssa Graham, Reina Zermeno and Jillian Figueroa each had a hit.
- The Spartans left eight on base and had no extra base hits.
