Spartans Win High-Scoring Contest Against Nevada, 13-12

RENO, Nev.—Charles McAdoo went 3-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and scored two runs to lead the San José State baseball team (13-10, 6-3 Mountain West) in a 13-12 win over Nevada (12-15, 3-8 Mountain West) on Sunday afternoon at Don Weir Field. Left-handed pitcher Jesse Gutierrez earned his first career win as he tossed 3.0 innings in relief, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out four. The Spartans earned the series win, taking two out of three games in Reno.

  • McAdoo extended his hit streak to 12 games.
  • Jack Colette scored four runs, reaching base safely four times with three walks and a double.
  • Theo Hardy hit first home run of the season, going opposite field for a solo shot in the seventh inning.
  • Jeriah Lewis went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and led the Spartans with two stolen bases.
  • Matt Spear reached base safely in three at-bats with two walks and a single.
  • Dalton Bowling went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
  • Hunter Dorraugh registered his 10th double of the season.
  • RHP Joey Cammarata pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh.
  • RHP Darren Jansen earned his team-leading third save of the season.
