STANFORD, Calif.— San José State's men's throwers will spend the weekend in Palo Alto for the Payton Jordan Invitational held April 21 and 22.
- Fabio Hessling won the Men's Hammer Throw at the Cal Opener for the first event win of SJSU's outdoor season. His best mark of the day was 58.24m (191'1")
- Also at the Cal Opener, Bryson Smith finished second in the Men's Hammer Throw with a mark of 58.04m (190'5")
- At the Brutus Hamilton Invitatonal, Hessling took third place in the Men's Hammer Throw with a 63.04m (206'10") heave. His teammate Smith also finished fifth in the same event with a mark of 61.81m (202'9")
- Jacob Lopez finished fourth in the Men's Shot Put, putting up a throw of 16.13m (52'11") at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational
- Hessling, Lopez, Smith and Pablo Villasenor are the No. 26 ranked USTFCCCA #EventSquad for the Men's Hammer Throw
UP NEXT: After the Payton Jordan Invitational, the Spartans will travel to the Central Valley for the Fresno State Invitational on April 28 and 29.
