RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif.—Four Spartans are in the top-10, led by Antonia Malate in third place, as the No. 10 San José State women's golf team moved into first place on Wednesday after two rounds of the 2023 Mountain West Championship being played at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

- Malate shot an even-par 72 and is third at 4-under 140. She made four birdies during her round.
- Kajsa Arwefjäll is in fourth at 3-under 141 after shooting a 1-under 71 in the second round. She was two-under through 17 holes, making two birdies and 15 pars before a bogey on her final hole of the day.
- Lucia Lopez Ortega shot the team's low-round of the day with a three-under 69 and is tied for seventh at even-par 144.
- She made six birdies on the day, shooting 3-under for the first nine holes and ended the round with a birdie on 18.
- Louisa Carlbom shot a one-under 71 and is tied with Lopez Ortega and four others for seventh place. She, too, made six birdies on the round including four over the final six holes.
- Malate and Carlbom lead the field in birdies made with 11, while Carlbom leads the field in par-4 scoring at -6.
- Rebecca Gyllner shot a 3-over 75 and is tied for 29th at 6-over 150. She played her final nine holes at 2-under with two birdies and seven pars.
- San José State shot a 5-under 283 in the second, the low round of the day, and moved into the top spot on the leaderboard at 7-under 569.
- SJSU leads New Mexico by four shots and third-place Colorado State by nine strokes. The Rams had the second-best round of the day at 284.
- The Spartans tied the MW Championship record for low team score at 569 (-7), tying the record set by the 2022 San José State team.
- The team leads the field in birdies made with 41 and par-4 scoring at -13.
