MEET RESULTS
STANFORD, Calif.— Bryson Smith won the Men's Hammer Throw to lead San José State on the first day of the Payton Jordan Invitational hosted by Stanford University.
- Smith's best mark of 65.58m (215'2") was good for the third-best record in school history in addition to winning the event
- Fabio Hessling took third place in the Men's Hammer Throw with a mark of 62.23m (204'2").
- Hessling also got himself into the record book, with his top mark now the fifth-best record in school history
- Four out of five of Smith's throws on the day would have secured him a top-three spot in the program record book
- Hessling and Smith add to an already stellar season, now having two top-five finishes and one event win each on the season
- Jacob Lopez and Pablo Villasenor entered the day alongside Smith and Hessling as the No. 26 ranked USTFCCCA #EventSquad for the Men's Hammer Throw
