LAS VEGAS – Karizma Bergesen went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, Adrianna Noriega went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and Reina Zermeno hit a two-run double to lead San José State (20-23, 8-9 MW) in a 6-0 win at UNLV (19-24, 5-10 MW) in the first game of a three-game road series at Eller Media Stadium.
The Spartans scored all six runs with two outs and this is the fifth time the Spartans have shutout the opponent this season. UNLV left eight runners on base.
- Jenessa Ullegue pitched 5.0 IP with no runs and struck out four on the way to her 11th win of the season which is at the top of the Mountain West Conference
- Ullegue has pitched 5.0 IP or more 11 times this season
- Ullegue also had a hit, an RBI and scored a run
- Bergesen has three doubles on the season and 14 RBIs
- Ad. Noriega has 18 RBIs which is third best on the Spartans
- Zermeno has tied the team lead with nine doubles and is second on the Spartans with 21 RBIs
- Alyssa Graham went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and stole a pair of bases
- Arianna Miranda hit 1-for-3 with a run scored
- Ahmiya Noriega scored two runs
- Lacie Ham pitched the final two innings for the Spartans and had three strikeouts
- The Spartans are 7-0 in MW play and 14-1 overall when leading after six innings this season
