CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas— Blaire Fleming and Teila Allen went 2-0 on the day to lead No. 6 seed San José State to a second round upset victory over No. 5 seed Southeastern Louisiana 3-1 before falling 1-3 to No. 2 seed Houston Christian.
- Allen and Fleming, playing in the number-four position, won in straight sets over SLU's Harlee Tupper and Alexis Logarbo 21-19, 23-21
- The pair also got a win against HCU in the second round, defeating Abbey Reinard and Abbey Bufkin in straight sets 21-19, 21-13
- Out of the number-two slot, Siena Brewster and Amethyst Harper defeated SLU's Mia McKinney and Carley Petty in straight sets 21-19, 21-15
- In the number-three position, Tessa Rogers and Nayeli Tia won in three sets over SLU's Eryn Wilks and Jackie McGee 13-21, 21-18, 15-7
- With the upset win over the SLU Lions, the Spartans advanced to the third round of the SLC Championship. They last played the Lions at the Southland Midseason Tournament, where they fell 2-3
