FRESNO, Calif.—Left-handed pitcher Micky Thompson tossed 7.1 innings, allowing only three runs on four hits while striking out five to lead the San José State baseball team (19-17, 12-6 Mountain West) in the first game of a doubleheader against Fresno State (19-18, 10-9 Mountain West) on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans fell 4-1 in the first game and 8-3 in the second game at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium.
GAME ONE
- Robert Hamchuk led the Spartans with two walks.
- Theo Hardy collected a double.
- Charles McAdoo hit an RBI single.
- Hunter Dorraugh went 1-for-3 with a walk.
- Jeriah Lewis scored the Spartans' only run and swiped his team-leading ninth stolen base of the season.
GAME TWO
- McAdoo notched a two-run home run in the first inning, his fourth home run of the season.
- Dalton Bowling hit an RBI single.
- Jack Colette went 1-for-3 with a walk.
- LHP Ethan Ross pitched 2.2 innings of relief, surrendering only one run on one hit while striking out two.
- RHP Gary Hall made his first appearance of the season and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning, recording one strikeout.
