SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (21-24, 9-10 MW) hosts Santa Clara (21-21, 3-6 WCC) in a lone Wednesday tilt at 5:00 p.m. from Spartan Softball Stadium and it can be seen on the Mountain West Network.

  • The Spartans come in 13-9 at home on the season
  • Karizma Bergesen hit .667 (6-for-9) with a home run, a double, five RBIs, two runs scored and posted a 1.111 slugging pct. with a .700 on-base pct. and added 10 putouts over the three-game series against UNLV (4/21-23).
  • The Spartans have let up only 16 home runs this season which is good for best in the Mountain West.
  • Jenessa Ullegue has 98 strikeouts this season which is good for fifth in the conference and is tied for tops in the conference with 12 wins.
  • Ullegue has 364 career strikeouts and is only the sixth SJSU pitcher to go over 300 strikeouts in her career. Corina Lilly is fifth on the all-time list with 376 career strikeouts. Ullegue has 98 this season as she looks to go over 100 strikeouts in a season for the third time in her career.
  • Ullegue also has a .226 batting average against which is good for sixth best in the MW.
  • Ullegue has gone 7.0 IP six times this season including pitching two one-hitters where both hits happened in the seventh inning.
  • Lacie Ham (101) and Ullegue (98) are ranked third and fifth in the Mountain West in strikeouts.
  • Freshman Ahmiya Noriega went 4-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and two runs scored against FS (4/12 in a doubleheader) in her first games back since April 1st. She is fifth in the conference with three triples this season. 
  • Alyssa Graham hit two home runs against Colorado State (4/6-8) including a game changing grand slam (has two grand slams this season) and has eight home runs to lead the Spartans. The SJSU record is 13 in a season by Brittany McConnell in 2008. Graham is eighth in the MW with eight home runs this season and 10th with a .613 slugging pct.
  • Freshman Reina Zermeno has only struck out seven times (121 at-bats) this season which is good for third best in the conference.
