LAS VEGAS – The No. 8 seed San José State (11-12, 4-6 MW) took down the top-seeded Wyoming Cowgirls (14-10, 9-1 MW) 4-2 after Jovana Babic clinched the winner in a three-set match.
- After dropping the doubles point, the Spartans quickly evened the match 1-1 thanks to a straight-sets victory from Alba Pedrero Galindo (6-1, 6-2) in the No. 2 match.
- Wyoming responded with a point in the No. 4 match, but SJSU came right back when Olaya Bances Iglesias won 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 6 match.
- The Spartans moved to within one point from the win after Irena Muradyan came through in the No. 3 match, winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) to make it 3-2.
- Two matches remained, both in their third sets, until Babic clinched the win for the Spartans with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win in the No. 5 match.
- Carolina Millan went unfinished in the No. 1 match, leading the third set 4-1 after forcing it with a 6-3 win in the second set.
