LAS VEGAS – The San José State women's tennis team (11-13, 4-6 MW) fell 4-3 to No. 4 seed Air Force (12-11, 6-4 MW) on Friday in the Mountain West semifinals after a stellar tournament run.
- The Spartans dropped the doubles point after falling in the Nos. 3 and 1 matches, while Irena Muradyan and Rozalina Youseva were leading 6-5 in the No. 2 match.
- After falling in the No. 5 singles match, Youseva put the Spartans on the board in the No. 4 match with a 6-3, 6-2 win.
- The Falcons made it 3-1 after a win in the No. 6 match, but Alba Pedrero Galindo kept SJSU alive with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win in the No. 2 spot to make it 3-2.
- Just a few moments later, Carolina Millan leveled the match with a three-set thriller, winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 to make it 3-3.
- In the final match, Muradyan forced a third set with a 6-3 win. In a tiebreaker in the third set, she battled back from 4-1 and 5-2 down, but ultimately fell short 8-6.
