SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (15-20, 3-6 MW) hosts Colorado State (18-11, 4-4 MW) for a three-game conference series starting Thursday at 6:00 p.m. from Spartan Softball Stadium and can be seen on the Mountain West Network.

  • The Spartans are 11-6 at home this season.
  • Freshman Reina Zermeno hit .615 with a slugging percentage of 1.077 and had a home run, eight hits, five runs scored, four RBIs, three doubles, plus stole a pair of bases and had 10 putouts at UNM (3/24-26).
  • Zermeno has only struck out five times this season (78 at-bats) which is second best in the Mountain West.
  • Alyssa Graham hit two home runs at SDSU (3/31-4/2) and has seven home runs on the season which is good for fifth in the MW. The SJSU record is 13 in a season by Brittany McConnell in 2008.
  • Jenessa Ullegue pitched her second 7.0 IP one-hitter of the season vs. Nevada (3/18) while striking out 11 which earned her her first Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors (3/21). Ullegue has twice gone to the seventh inning with a no hitter this season and has 24 strikeouts in her last two starts on the mound. 
  • It was Ullegue's third career 7.0 IP one-hitter and she only walked one on the night. It was also the 10th time in Ullegue's career she's thrown 7.0 IP of shutout ball.
  • Ullegue has 330 career strikeouts and is only the sixth SJSU pitcher to go over 300 strikeouts in her career. Corina Lilly is fifth on the all-time list with 376 career strikeouts.
  • SJSU's walk-off win against Pacific (3/22) is their third true walk-off win of the season (URI on 3/12, UNR on 3/17). The Spartans also have two run rule walk-off's this season against Saint Mary's (2/25) and Sac State (2/25) with both ending in five innings.
  • Lacie Ham is third in the Mountain West with 80 strikeouts this season.
