SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jenessa Ullegue and Alyssa Graham each hit home runs to lead San José State (16-20, 4-6 MW) in a 5-4 win over Colorado State (18-12, 4-5 MW) in the first game of a three-game game series from Spartan Softball Stadium on Thursday evening.
The Rams loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the seventh inning, but a groundout, a lineout and a Ashley Goard strikeout ended the threat.
- Ullegue ended the night going 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and an RBI double that eventually was the game winning run
- Ullegue also pitched and went 6.0 IP with three strikeouts while letting in only three earned runs on the way to her eighth win of the season
- Graham hit her team leading seventh home run of the season which is her third home run in her last four games
- Graham also extended her on-base streak to a season team best 18 games
- Reina Zermeno went 1-for-3 and has hits in 12 of her last 14 games including six straight games
- Adrianna Noriega went 1-for-3 with a run scored and stole her team leading ninth base of the season
- Ashley Rico scored two runs
- Goard nailed down her first career save
