Spartans Take Series With Blowout Win Over New Mexico, 14-3

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—
Jack Colette went 4-for-6 with a three-run home run, two triples, a double, five RBIs and three runs scored to lead the San José State baseball team (15-11, 8-4 Mountain West) in a 14-3 win over New Mexico (16-13, 6-8 Mountain West) on Sunday afternoon at Santa Ana Star Field. The game ended after eight innings with the Spartans leading by more than 10 runs. The Spartans took two out of three games in Albuquerque and won their second straight Mountain-West series.

  • Colette became the eighth Spartan in school history to record two triples in a game and the first since Theo Hardy on March 19, 2022 against San Diego State.
  • Hunter Dorraugh went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
  • Robert Hamchuk and James Shimashita each registered two hits.
  • Charles McAdoo extended his hit streak to 15 games.
  • Left-handed pitcher Jack White tossed 3.0 innings of relief, allowing only one run on five hits. The Spartans' reliever earned his fifth win of the season which is tied for the most in the Mountain West.
  • Right-handed pitcher Aaron Eden started the game and completed 4.0 innings, giving up only two runs on eight hits.
  • RHP Darren Jansen pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will head to Santa Barbara, Calif. for games against UC Santa Barbara on Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 11. First pitch on Monday is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
