MEET HIGHLIGHTS
CLOVIS, Calif.— Fabio Hessling took the MW title in the Men's Hammer Throw to lead San José State in the first day of competition at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
- Fabio Hessling took first place in the final of the Men's Hammer Throw while setting a new facility record with a mark of 67.65m (221'11"), which is good for the third-best record in school history. Any of Hessling's throws on the day would have been good enough for first place in the event.
- Bryson Smith placed second in the final of the Men's Hammer Throw with a mark of 64.99m (213'2"), with all of his throws from the final being good enough for a top-two finish.
- Cameron Tarver and Jeremiah Walker won their preliminary Men's 200m heats with times of 20.86 and 21.15 seconds respectively. They will be joined by Christopher Coats and Jaden Smith in the final race on Saturday.
- In the preliminary round of the Women's 200m Dash, Kaylen Fletcher and Sharli'e McCuller both qualified for the title race on Saturday with times of 23.99 and 24.09 seconds respectively.
- Zaire Waring finished second in his preliminary heat of the Men's 400m Hurdles with a time of 53.40 and will race in the final on Saturday.
