SAN DIEGO –Jenessa Ullegue went 7.0 IP while striking out sixto lead No. 4 seed San José State (26-27, 11-11 MW) in 2-1 win over No. 1 seed Boise State (32-17, 16-5 MW) at SDSU Softball Stadium on Friday night to send the Spartans to the Mountain West Championship game on Saturday at noon against No. 2 seed SDSU.

- The Spartans went 2-0 against No.1 seed Boise State to knock them out of the tournament
- With Ullegue's six strikeouts, she tied Katelyn Linford for fourth on the SJSU all-time list with 388 career strikeouts
- It was Ullegue's first time being the starting pitcher for four games in a row
- For Ullegue, it's her ninth time pitching seven innings or more this season and her seventh time letting in one run or less when going at least seven innings
- Ullegue's 16 wins leads the Mountain West
- Ullegue also went 1-for-3 and is hitting .364 with a home run, a double and four RBIs in the tournament
- Aubrie Thomas robbed a home run in the fourth inning to keep the Spartans with a 2-1 lead
- Adrianna Noriega went 2-for-3
- Ahmiya Noriega finished 1-for-2 with a run scored
- Makenzie Hutchinson had a sac fly and has three RBIs in the tournament
- Ashley Rico went 1-for-3 with a run scored
- Alyssa Graham also had a hit
- This is the first MW Softball Championship tournament since 2006 and the Spartans are looking for their first MW Softball Championship since winning the regular season title in 2017
- The Spartans are looking for their first softball tournament championship since winning the 2013 WAC Softball Championship
UP NEXT: The Spartans will play No. 2 seed SDSU at noon on Saturday in the Mountain West Championship game and it can be seen on the Mountain West Network. If the Spartans win the first game, the second game will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday for the championship in the double-elimination tournament.
