MORGAN HILL, Calif. – Despite the tougher conditions, Caleb Shetler posted a strong score on day two of the NCAA Morgan Hill Regional, shooting a 2-over-par 74 in his second round.

  • Shetler shot a 35 (-1) on the front nine after making eight pars along with a birdie on the 672-yard seventh hole.
  • He was able to make his second birdie of the day from 20 feet on the par-4 12th.
  • His round propelled him inside the top 50.

The second round proved to be a tough test for the field on Tuesday. No teams shot under par after eight of the 13 did so in round one.

  • Mississippi State continues to lead, with a two-day total of 574 (-2).
  • Florida State (+1), Baylor (+3), Pepperdine (+6) and BYU (+8) round out the top five.
  • Three individuals shot under par in round two, with Johnny Keefer (Baylor) shooting a 69, the low round of the day.
  • Maximilian Steinlechner (NC State) and Luke Clanton (Florida State) lead the individual field at -4 for the tournament.
  • Keefer is one stroke back at -3.

UP NEXT: Shetler and the field will close the Morgan Hill Regional on Wednesday with split tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. Shetler will tee off on hole 1 at 9:31 a.m.
