Trio of Spartans Named CSC Academic All-District

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball players Ashley Goard, Lacie Ham and Aubrie Thomas were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The honorees now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. To be recognized, student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average, be at least a sophomore academically and participate in at least 50 percent of team competitions.



Ashley Goard, P/UT, Sophomore, Rancho Murrieta, Calif./Pleasant Grove HS

  • Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2022)
  • Academic All-MW (2022)
  • Dean's Scholar (2022)
  • Struck out two in three straight games (3/4-3/11/23)
  • Pitched a season-high 4.1 IP at SDSU (4/1/23)


Lacie Ham, P, Sophomore, Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Mesa HS

  • MW Scholar-Athlete (2022)
  • Academic All-MW (2022)
  • Dean's Scholar (2022)
  • Had six strikeouts in back-to-back games (4/12-4/16/23)
  • Went 7.0 IP with six strikeouts and the win at Fresno State (4/12/23)
  • Pitched 7.0 IP with career-best 10 strikeouts in the win vs. Nevada (3/17/23)


Aubrie Thomas, UT, Sophomore, San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS

  • All-MW Tournament Team (2023)
  • MW Scholar-Athlete (2022)
  • Academic All-MW (2022)
  • Dean's Scholar (2022)
  • Went 2-for-4 with a run scored at Cal Poly (3/5/23)
  • Hit first career home run against UNC (2/24/23)
