SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State women's basketball team added Megan Sawatzky to its staff as the new Director of Basketball Operations. Sawatzky brings a wealth of operations experience to San José State.
"Megan is a rock star. She brings such attention to detail, organization, innovation, and the ability to connect not only throughout our athletic department and with program supporters, but with our players as well," head coach April Phillips said. "I'm super excited for what having Megan on board means for our program day to day."
- Worked as the Director of Basketball Operations at North Carolina A&T since 2021.
- Worked with Phillips at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2019 to 2021 as the Coordinator of Operations for the women's basketball team.
- Was the Athletic Facilities Coordinator as well as the Director of Basketball Operations for the men's program at NCAA DIII St. John's University from 2017 to 2019.
- Worked for the US Women's National Team, Men's Final Four Mini Camp, and U17/18 and U16/19 Women's Basketball Trials in a support staff capacity from 2016 to 2020.
- Was the Women's Basketball Manager and part of the Arena Operations Staff at Loyola University, Chicago from 2013 to 2016.
- Sawatzky is from Minneapolis, Minn.
