- Lopez Ortega shot a 3-under 69 in the second round and is tied for fourth at 7-under 137. She is tied for fourth with Adela Cernousek of Texas A&M who has shot 69-68 for the two rounds.
- The highlight of Lopez Ortega's round may be the eagle made on 18 as she putted from just off the green. She was one of two players to make an eagle on the hole Saturday.
- Otherwise, her card featured 14 pars, two birdies and a bogey for the day. She was 1-under through the first nine holes with eight pars and a birdie on the eighth hole. She added a birdie on the 10th hole before making a bogey on 13 and an eagle on 18.
- Lopez is tied for second in the field in par-5 scoring at 6-under.
- Arwefjäll shot the team's low-round of the day with a 4-under 68 and is tied for sixth overall at 5-under 139. She is tied with Mathilde Claisse of South Carolina and Rose Zhang of Stanford, the world's top-ranked amateur.
- Arwefjäll is 4-under on the par 4s, tying for the second best outcome on those holes.
- The two Spartans, shooting in the 60s during the second round, are following in the footsteps of last year's team at the NCAA Championships when Arwefjäll and former Spartan Natasha Andrea Oon each shot a 68 in the second round at Grayhawk.
- Antonia Malate shot an 8-over 77 and is tied for 126th. She made 13 pars during her round but did not have a birdie on the day.
- Rebecca Gyllner and Louisa Carlbom are tied for 140th at 13-over 157 after each shot a 7-over 79 on Saturday.
- The Spartans begin the third round Sunday beginning at 11:20 a.m. off of the first tee with SMU and Clemson.
- San José State is looking to be one of the top-15 teams after tomorrow's round to advance to the final day of stroke play. The top-15 teams and top-nine individuals, not on an advancing team, will play a fourth round Monday to determine the top-eight teams for match play as well as the individual stroke play champion.
